Going Back

Tomorrow I head back to Haiti. I'm excited, but I'm also more nervous than I was the first time. The first time, I had no expectations. This time I know how I want things to be, but I also know that they will never be that way. For example, the first trip down we used deaf baggage handlers at the airport. I don't know if they survived. I don't know if our translator was able to find his parents. I don't know if the other Haitians GVCM hired while we were there made contact with their relatives either. So many unknowns are waiting for us when we land in Port-au-Prince. I can't imagine the terminal being safe yet, so if it isn't are we just jumping off on the tarmac? What's the gas station where we had lunch last time look like? what's PaP look like with 2 months clean-up time? It'll be interesting, I'm looking forward to it.

bless and be blessed,

nate
